Missions
Missions
Bethlehem Presbyterian Church has a heart for mission! The Church reaches outside its doors to serve those in our community, across the county, and around the world. We believe that a commitment to helping our brothers and sisters in Christ is an important way to honor God and live our faith.
"Never doubt that a small group of concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed it's the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead
Service Opportunities
We believe that mission and ministry is not work, but rather, opportunity.
We have seen the value of providing children opportunities to give back to their communities and in introducing them to mission and ministry around the globe. Yet, because the needs are so great, we encourage everyone at the Church to become active in hands-on mission. There are many opportunities to get involved and your help is always welcome! These are just a few of our ongoing mission projects:
▪ Anderson House – making teddy bears to comfort women as they enter this halfway house and begin their rehabilitation.
▪ Giving Tree – donating hats and gloves to the homeless in wintertime.
▪ Elizabethport Presbyterian Center – knitting blankets to help the folks that benefit from this far-reaching ministry in Elizabeth, NJ
▪ America’s Grow-a-Row – gleaning produce to feed our neighbors in need all over the state of New Jersey and beyond
▪ Interfaith Hospitality Network of Hunterdon County – providing shelter, food, and fellowship several weeks a year to the homeless in Hunterdon County
▪ NORWESCAP Food Bank – volunteering several times a year to stock shelves and provide any assistance needed to feed guests
▪ Bridges Outreach – preparing 300 bagged meals that are handed out to the homeless in Newark
▪ Networkers – making mosquito nets that are distributed throughout the globe to help prevent devastating diseases
▪ Habitat for Humanity – whether it’s sending a group of high schoolers to West Virginia or donating money and time to our local Raritan Valley affiliate, we believe in helping people achieve their dream of simple, decent, affordable housing
